The Academy has been set-up to promote cheese knowledge and provide career development, both within the industry and amongst the wider public. Founded by Mary Quicke, it gives professionals working with cheese an opportunity to build up a qualification at their own pace, that will ultimately result in the highly qualified and industry accredited role of 'Master of Cheese'.

About the Academy of Cheese
The Academy of Cheese is a new not-for-profit industry funded organisation. It has been set-up to promote cheese knowledge and provide career development, both within the industry and amongst the wider public.
About the Qualification
The accreditation will follow a similar path to the globally recognised Wines & Spirits Educational Trust (WSET). This course is an introduction to all types of cheese and learning to taste cheese. Level One sees you taste 25 classic cheeses the Academy of Cheese way. By the end of this course you will be equipped to recognise the full spectrum of 'cheese type'; name, appearance, how it is made, type of milk, how it is matured, whether it has a protected status and it's geographical origin. You will be discussing the appearance, aroma and flavour of these cheeses; establishing a standard vocabulary for cheese tasting and profiling.
Harvey & Brockless Provide 'Bespoke' Training
Harvey & Brockless have worked with the Academy of Cheese to develop the course programme so that it reflects the specific needs and level of training that is required by our customers and is a completely bespoke version of the main course content. It is fully endorsed by the Academy and is run on our behalf by Charlie Turnbull. To get everyone up and running, we are offering an exclusive introductory price to our customers which includes the Academy of Cheese membership fee of £25 and £15 cost of registering for the exam.
